Prestellar cores are cold, dense, and compact molecular gas globules, which are the direct progenitors of solar like stars. Stars form from the gravitational collapse of prestellar cores. To understand the formation of stellar systems like our own solar system, it is crucial to fully characterise the dynamical properties of prestellar cores. This workshop aims at gathering experts in star formation, both observers and theorists, to share their recent analyses and results aiming at discribing the onset of collapse of prestellar cores.
