Young Researcher Development Program

The Kyushu University Institute for Advanced Study runs two programs with the mission of developing advanced research activities and fostering young researchers who will lead the next generation.
The “Inamori Frontier Program" strategically cultivates future leaders of Japan’s research by recruiting ambitious young researchers aspiring to conduct innovative research as Principal Investigators (PIs).
The "World-leading Researchers Training Program" provides excellent young researchers in the university with opportunities for mid- to long-term overseas research, and supports them in enhancing themselves as researchers and cultivating international networks.

World-leading Researchers Training Program

Program Outline

This Program provides talented young researchers of Kyushu University with the opportunity to conduct research at outstanding research institutions abroad, helping them to advance their research, form international networks and become part of prominent academic communities in their respective fields that will benefit them in their future careers.

Through this program, IAS aims to cultivate world-leading researchers with both strong research skills and mindset. This Program is scheduled to continue until the 5th year (open call for applications in FY2027), supporting 5 young researchers each year (25 researchers in total).
